Flutter Discs, Sanding Stars & Slashed Rolls
Flutter discs or Sanding stars are made up by combining a number of slashed strips in various ways.
Made from J-Weight of X-weight abrasive cloth offering a range of stiffness, depending on the application. Commonly used on woods for the sanding of profiles or to polish metal welds in tight hard-to-reach corners.
These discs can be used on both handheld and automated machines such as molders and profile sanders.
Safety
Flutter discs or Sanding stars perform best between 10-20m/s, this giving the optimum balance between stock removal, surface finish, cutting temperature and wheel life.
- NB! Excess speed is dangerous and may result in disc disintegration, grain shedding and overheating.
- NEVER USE FLAP FLUTTER DISCS OR SANDING STARS AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 30m/s.
- Do not use wet or in any coolant or oil.
- Use in accordance to ANSI B7.1.
